Breaking the 70 page mark

Over the past year I’ve been writing a selection of work. A themed selection of shorts are in a first draft state and also a first draft of a dark crime/comedy that I believe could be the scale of a feature film, sitting at over 80 pages. This script was built from many weekends sat in the swanky members bar in Picturehouse Central in Piccadilly (my new favourite place/hangout). Although I say swanky, I tend to write on the 2nd of 3 floors in a dark corner of the member’s lounge drinking my full fair share of free pots of tea whilst writing the first amount of vomit onto the page. There is, however, a great view of the city though and I find it much easier to write around people (at this stage). It is also a great chance every weekend to escape the carnage of my full blown solo house renovation and silently rebel against it. In that respect I’ve practically been living in Picturehouse Central 3 days a week which isn’t all that bad! There is something to be said about occasionally touching their velvet curtains. I’ve had some great chats with the Picturehouse staff along the way of this continued writing journey/odyssey/incredible painful pulling out teeth experience. I’m sure they’ve had enough of watching a dishevelled being muttering nonsense whilst waiting for ‘its’ 5th pot of free tea.
