I’ve recently completed a final draft of my short film “Brie”. This is my first dark comedy and it revolves around the ‘ick’. Brie’s protagonist is…well…Brie, a 20 something energetic scatter-brained force of nature who is retelling her experience of a one night stand with 40 something Nate. The short story is told from a first person perspective which puts the audience straight into Brie’s shoes. I wanted to tell a story that was essentially about cause and effect whilst taking into account attraction (or lack of). I’ve tested Brie with many readers at this stage, all of different age ranges.
